At Victory Collegiate Academy, the Angel Program exists for moments exactly like this.
At just 7 years old, one of our students received a life-altering diagnosis: B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. What followed was a year filled with hospital visits, uncertainty, and unimaginable emotional and financial strain for the family. Everyday routines quickly turned into daily challenges, and simple celebrations—like birthdays and holidays—felt out of reach.
But this is where community steps in.
Through the Victory Foundation’s Angel Program, and in partnership with the White Tanks Rotary Club, something powerful happened. Instead of facing this journey alone, this family was surrounded—lifted up by people determined to bring hope, joy, and relief in a time of hardship.
The White Tanks Rotary Club immediately sprang into action, contributing $1,000 to create something unforgettable: a birthday and Christmas experience this student would never forget.
What followed was more than support—it was love in action.
Meals were provided to ease the burden of daily life. Gift cards helped put Thanksgiving dinner on the table. A full birthday celebration was planned, complete with cake, decorations, and meaningful moments designed to remind this student that they are seen, valued, and deeply cared for.
And then came the experience that brought it all together.
Through the Angel Program, the Victory Foundation and White Tanks Rotary made possible a two-day trip to ride the Polar Express in Williams, Arizona with the family for Chirstmas. For a child who had spent so much time in hospitals and at home, this trip offered something rare and magical—snow, wonder, and the chance to simply be a kid again.
In a place like Phoenix, where snow is a rarity, this experience became more than a trip. It became a memory that will last a lifetime.
This is the heart of the Angel Program.
It’s not just about meeting needs—it’s about restoring moments. It’s about stepping in when life feels overwhelming and saying, you are not alone. It’s about community partners like the White Tanks Rotary Club choosing to show up in extraordinary ways for families who need it most.
Because when we come together, we don’t just change circumstances—we change stories.
And for this student and their family, their story now includes joy, celebration, and a community that stood beside them every step of the way.
